| Strength of Pilates |

If you want to posses a toned and sculpted body in
limited time then Pilates is a great option to consider.
You may have heard celebrities extolling its many virtues
and claiming that you can attain the perfect body by
following an exercise regimen that needs just half an
hour a day for three weeks. Though, this information
sounds unreal and exaggerated, Pilates is definitely a
very efficient and effective form of exercise, which
shows great results.
Pialtes was originally conceived as a method for helping
dancers strengthen their muscles for strenuous
performances. Those practicing Pilates will increase their
flexibility and, with regular use, lengthen muscles and get
a leaner appearance. Once you have done Pilates regularly
you'll wonder why you bothered huffing and puffing through
all those awful situps at the gym. Pilates is fun and
brings much better results.
How does Pilates work? The exercises combine balance with
strength and flexibility, and you can work up to each level
on your own. Similar to yoga in the requirement for
balance, Pilates also involves many stretches, reaches, and
resistance against your own weight. Leg lifts and arm
circles may look easy, but once you do them you'll be
sweating.
Pilates besides working on different parts of the body
also works on and strengthens your abdomen, midsection
and lower back muscles. Hence, like yoga, the Pilates
exercise routine is very good for muscle tone and
strength.
Pilate routines are available on DVDs and videos; you can
follow the instructions and include the routine in your
daily exercise schedule. You can even buy different
Pilate routines to bring some variety to your workout
routine. Or you could even take classes with any of the
public or private gyms in your city.
When you just begin to do Pilates, your different body
parts and muscles may hurt and the exercises may seem
difficult as well. Even if you are in good shape, on
starting Pilates you may initially feel sore and weak,
because while doing Pilates you are exercising muscles
that normally do not get much exercise.
Pilates strive to strengthen your muscles and you will find
that even after two weeks of Pilates, you will feel
stronger and the pain in your joints and muscles will
reduce making you more comfortable.
